Reporting pack

Report the death and gather the Master’s Office pack.

This page helps the family capture the basic estate details, confirm whether there is a will, identify the executor or next of kin, and prepare the documents needed before lodgement.

This module provides procedural assistance and legal information for estate administration. It does not provide legal advice.

1. Build the reporting pack

Start with the core family and estate details before moving to the reporting forms.

Pack builder

Ask the user

  • Is there a will?
  • Who is the nominated executor?
  • Has the death already been reported?
  • Are there minor heirs or dependants?
  • Is the estate large or small?

Reporting pack documents

  • Death certificate
  • Death notice
  • Next-of-kin / family details
  • ID copies
  • Will and codicils if any

2. Forms and supporting documents

Show the forms the user must complete or allow the platform to help fill them in from the user’s answers.

  • No — check authority route

What the page should show

  • Executor identified
  • Master’s Office ready
  • Missing forms
  • Required supporting documents

4. Questions panel

The user should be able to ask what to do next at the reporting stage.

What documents go into the reporting pack?

The reporting pack should include the death certificate, death notice, family details, IDs, and any will or codicils.

How do I know whether to use executorship or authority?

The page should branch based on whether there is a will and the route the Master requires.

What if the death has already been reported?

Mark the reporting stage as partly complete and move to the lodge pack as soon as the remaining items are ready.

What comes after reporting?

The workflow should move to the covering letter and lodgement stage, then to the Master’s appointment outcome.
